so what is up with the chat room? I can't get in anymore either...all I get is a black screen with a little icon in the top left corner.

Seems to be working ok on my end and no one else has complained of this issue today. Make sure you do not attempt to use the chat room with IE 8.0 as it is junk. Try FireFox and see if you have the same issue.
