Should I try swinging?
Every swinger out there has asked themselves this question.
For such a simple question, it can be extremely difficult to answer. In order to answer the question "Should I try swinging?", you have to answer a few more questions.
2. Your relationship status.
If you are single, then technically you don't have to answer this question. However, there is some question as to whether you need to notify people you are dating whether you are actively swinging. If you have been regularly dating someone, they should know that you swing. Failure to let a person you date know that you swing could negatively affect that relationship. Honesty is always the best policy.
If you are a couple, you should both be happy in your relationship. Swinging will not fix a failing relationship.
3. Are you emotionally ready? Swinging requires you to be emotionally stable. Some of the emotions you may deal with are:
- Respect. You need to be able to respect others and their decisions.
- Confidence. It takes confidence to deal with all of the aspects of swinging. You need to be confident in your ability to meet and possibly have sex with other people.
- Rejection. One of the hardest things to deal with is rejection. That is right. Not everyone will find you attractive -even if you are a Playboy Bunny! You need to be able to handle that. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
- Jealousy. Not all swingers deal with jealousy, but you should be prepared to deal with it properly in the event it happens to you or your partner.
4. Communication.
Communication is the key to swinging. You have to speak up about the things you like and don't like. You have to speak up to your partner about potential concerns or issues you have with swinging. Remember this is all new to you. If you have questions, then ask them. If you have a problem, speak up. For some women, this is the hardest part of swinging. Women tend to not speak up. Somehow, we expect others to read our minds.
If you are in a relationship, then you and your partner have to feel comfortable about discussing all the aspects of swinging. You are in this together.
